Playing basketball in the Norman Church League

Playing the drums at a Youth Camp in OK

I happened to come across these pictures, along with a few more that I haven't scanned in yet. I don't know why I'm posting them on here, really....but oh well, I am for some reason. haha!
It has been a wash!

This week has been a long one...now it is finally Friday and it seems to be dragging.

Monday evening A started feeling pretty sick to her stomach...then was feeling pretty warm. Liz's mom came down to spend that night with us, something she pretty much never does. I guess she was feeling extra generous, with A being sick and all.

Wednesday night A woke up in the middle of the night screaming. She was still sick and this time it was at its worst. She couldn't move and Liz took her temperature, it came back at 103 degrees. We took A to the emergency room to have her checked out. We made it back home, after stopping by the 24 hour Walgreens on the way home to pick up 3 medicines for her. At times she feels well, then at other times she isn't...it kinda comes and goes.

Today, Liz's mom is coming by to pick up A for the next two nights. Meanwhile, Liz and I will be babysitting tonight. One of the daycare parents is needing a favor, so we will oblige. The parents have been generous to us, especially during that week that we stayed with Liz's family while her granny was about to pass. I guess we will be staying in tonight, then. Maybe we will do something tomorrow? I am guessing that Liz's mom will just bring A with her and meet us at LifeChurch on Sunday.

Yesterday was my niece's birthday, happy birthday K! I still don't want her to leave us and move with her mom in AZ. Right now, she is living with my parents to finish out the school year...I want it to stay that way.

I needed to finish mowing the yard this week...but it has kinda been a wash with the much needed rain. I would say it is in my favor, but I'm not so sure. The grass will be thicker than ever when I can finally get back out ther...plus, what I had already done will need to be done again. Oh well...we definitely need the rain. Also, with the weather we brought the dog in...she still isn't a fan of the crate, so there is whining and barking at different times during the night. Even though she isn't a fan, she really isn't that bad. She will whine and bark for about 10 minutes after she sees someone (A gets up a few times after going to bed...before she falls asleep), then she is quiet the rest of the night (unless she needs a bathroom break). So I have to get up a time or two that I wouldn't normall have to, in order to let her relieve herself....but I am just so glad that she doesn't continually make noise all night long. Well...here is to a great weekend!! God bless!!

So here is part 2:

Peyton Manning on SNL

This was a spoof on SNL with NFL player Peyton Manning. It is so funny...except the couple bad words.

Crazy and Busy Spring Break!!

Spring Break...yes, let's talk about that. We will start with the Saturday leading into the week.

Saturday - Liz and I got up and went to eat breakfast at Golden Corral. Then we headed up to Choctaw...Liz had a wedding (she is wedding coordinator) and I (and "A" if it is our weekend) usually go to her mom's house, which is just a few miles away, during that time. "A" had spent the night with them, so she was already out there. That night was an extended family get-together with my wife's family...a cousin that is in the military is heading out. We went ahead and stayed the night at the in-laws since it would be so late, plus Liz's mom (Ann) and brother (Chance) were going with us to LifeChurch the next morning.

Sunday - After another amazing lesson at LifeChurch, we went out to the cemetery to leave flowers for Liz's granny that just passed away first of February...plus we left some flowers with some other family members that are there, too. We took Ann and Chance back home to Choctaw. We left "A" out there to spend two more nights, so that Liz and I could do some work on the house. We decided to surprise her by switching bedrooms/playroom. Liz and I left Choctaw and headed for MWC, to get the necessary supplies and grab a bite to eat...then we headed home. When we got home, we didn't do too much work before bedtime. We just moved the stuff out of the playroom, so we would be ready to get to work in the morning.

Monday - We get up and get to work...we painted "A"'s new room and started moving stuff in, along with sorting through her old stuff. We didn't have much "play" time, we worked pretty hard.

Tuesday - Ann was bringing "A" back, so we wanted to make sure everything was ready for their arrival...we wanted the room all set and arranged. By the time they got there, we had just finished her room, picking up the living room, and cleaning the kitchen. "A" loved the new room, so that went over well. We are turning her old bedroom into an office, and I get to decorate it with all of my OU memorabilia (that has been in a closet for almost a year). Liz and I are excited...we both wanted that stuff out and displayed, but we weren't sure where/how to do it. Now, we will have an office/library.

Wednesday - Back to work for me. I didn't want to go, but I needed to go to Bethany Schools for a few things. When I got to the office, plans quickly changed. Instead, I had to go to Indiahoma Schools which is 20 miles west of Lawton. I was planning on taking Thursday and Friday off, as well. Well, I was told that on Thursday I needed to go to Seiling...Liz and I had been planning on going to the Children's Museum in Seminole with her family, so I wasn't going to get to attend. My boss did tell me that I could take off early when I was finished at Indiahoma. When I finished there, I headed back to Norman. Liz and her family were headed for the Little River Zoo...so I caught up with them there. After the zoo, we went to have snocones and go to the park. We headed back home after that for the remainder of the evening.

Thursday - Drove to Seiling for work...made it home by 5:30pm. Liz and "A" were still in Choctaw because they still went to the museum with her family. They made it home that evening around 7:30. Liz's dad (Jody) came out to the house about 9:00pm to help me paint the new office...it was pink and when we finished it was tan. It only took us a little over a hour to paint and cleanup because Jody was leaving at 10:30pm.

Friday - Liz and I dropped off "A" at her daddy's work around noon. It was his weekend, as well as Liz and I had an appointment in Tulsa that afternoon to attend....so he took a half-day vacation to spend some extra time with "A". Liz and I ate lunch, then headed for T-town. After our appointment, we went to Walmart up there, then we went to eat at one our absolute favorites....CHEDDARS! Too bad we don't have one of those restaurants closer to Norman...yummy! We have to go back for another appointment soon...so we are looking forward to a return trip to that eating establishment. We didn't stay the night...we headed back to the house. We got home around 9:30...I think.

Saturday - Liz didn't have any weddings this weekend, so we took advantage of it. We spent the morning working on the flower bed, then we spent the evening at my parents' house. They grilled some burgers and brats, along with baked beans and french fries...yummy! After we ate, we visited and played some games...so much fun!! We left their house a little after 12:30am....got home a little after 1:00am, then got to bed around 1:30am. crazy...considering we had to get up for church the next morning.

Sunday - Liz and I get up and go to LifeChurch. After services, we went to Lowes to get some more flowers/soil for our flower bed, went to eat lunch at Rib Crib, then we headed back to Norman for the day. We got home around 2:45pm and started working on the flower bed/yard...yes, I pulled the mower out and mowed the front yard. I was going to mow the back yard on Monday night or Tuesday night...it has been raining ever since, darn! haha!

Yes, it was a very busy Spring Break! I am sorry for the length of this thing...I won't let my next blogs get that long.
